Position Summary

The Ministry Site Assistant supports the ministry efforts of Youth for Christ Puerto Rico by assisting in the preparation, coordination, and implementation of weekly ministry gatherings and special events. This part-time role involves building meaningful relationships with youth, supporting ministry site leaders, and contributing to the development and maintenance of YFCPR’s ministry sites and camp property. The Ministry Site Assistant also participates in spiritual and fundraising activities that advance YFCPR’s mission to reach young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Key areas of responsibility 

The following will be the key areas of responsibility for the Ministry Site Assistant:


● Assist Ministry Coordinator/leaders in preparing lessons, games, equipment, and materials needed for sites.
● Assist Ministry Coordinator in organizing and putting on weekly ministry gatherings and any special weekend events.
● Build relationships with youth before, during, and after meetings or small group meetings on a weekly basis
(gender specific).
● Assist in the role of small group leader in ministry sites.
● Help with expansion & development of current & potential ministry sites.
● Spend time in devotion, prayer, and worship individually and with YFCPR team.
● Assist Ministry Coordinator in gathering and preparing necessary materials for Campus Life, City Life or Revive weekly.
● Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible school environment.

YFCPR Camp Development Assistant
● Assist with light physical labor, special projects, & cleaning at YFCPR Property with mission teams and local
volunteers on designated work days.
● Assist with property cleaning and preparation before mission teams arrive.
● Assist YFCPR team in welcoming and fellowshipping with Mission Team members during work hours when
Mission Teams are on-site.

Requirements 

● Knows Jesus Christ as Savior & Lord and shows evidence of fruits of Holy Spirit.
● Is mature spiritually, mentally & emotionally.
● Has an orderly home life, not dishonoring the Lord.
● Participates in local church and is willing to represent YFCPR in their church.
● Has a burden for the needs of children and youth.
● Has respect of their peers in their community.

● Loves children & youth.
● Must be in agreement with YFCPR's Statement of Faith, believes that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and have a heart for the lost.
● Ability to work with people from different Christian denominations.
● Meets the standards of a biblical leader as laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 & Titus 1:5-9.

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth For Christ PR is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth For Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel. As an employee of Youth For Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:


● Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
● Spend time regularly in devotion, prayer, and worship individually.
● Participate in and occasionally lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship with the YFCPR team.
● Teach and preach from the Holy Bible, accurately handling Biblical truth.
● Model empathy, humility and care for all people.
● Demonstrate a humble and teachable spirit.
● Be active in a local church.

YFCPR Reporting Structure 

The Ministry Site Assistant will report directly to the Ministry Coordinator of YFCPR.

Terms and condition

The following items depict expectations during the term:
● Adhere to all policies & procedures put in place by YFCPR.
● Attend weekly staff meetings.
● Complete weekly Staff Report & Ministry Update via JotForm before Mondays at 10 am.
● Complete required YFCPR staff training & attend all YFCPR volunteer trainings.
● Represent YFCPR at local events as needed.

Fundraising Responsibilities

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFCPR. These activities will include but are not limited to extending invitations to fundraising events, recruiting personal circle of influence YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
